Spring is here already?!?

Oh my goodness gracious how time has flown! With numerous upcoming summer weddings I have been busy and have lots of things up my sleeve, but obviously I don't want to premiere these invites and programs until after the weddings occur!

Let's take a look at two leaf options I created for Erin and Marcus this past fall. By altering the balance of the black and white leaves different tones can be created. I must admit, I have a weakness for trees and leaves on invites--I just love them!

p.s. soon to come--handmade cutesy cards i sent to my bridesmaids [yes, it's true... I am one of many summer 2010 weddings, too!]

Happy Holidays!

Such a great season of family and friends, and I've been fortunate to celebrate it with lots of loved ones!

The Krughs welcomed an addition to their family this year: an adorable shih tzu full of energy named Cooper! I created a few holiday cards for the family to choose from [they had wanted a blue theme]. If you received their photo in the mail, you know which one they decided on!

Happy New Year!

Fun, Flirty, Festive

I was asked to create something fun, flirty and festive for a holiday wedding. The ultimate idea that was decided on was a fun tree with holiday burgundy as a primary color. By using only burgundy and black, the color instantly stands out on the invite. Additionally, the fun abstract tree design was transferred to other wedding necessities: programs, table place cards, etc.

Welcome to the holiday season!! I'm looking forward to posting more about my holiday design opportunities!

Haney Wedding!

I first met Erin and Marcus through a young adult church group, and at the time they were not dating each other. It has been so great to see them through every step of their relationship--I remember having lunch dates with Erin where she would tell me about the butterflies she had from her new relationship with Marcus! And now... they have an upcoming wedding day!

They were a very easy couple to work with, and I was more than willing to help them with their invitations in any way. Looking forward to the wedding!

Bridges Wedding

When I moved to Grand Valley State University to go to college (seems like so long ago now!), Christine was the first friend I made in the dorms! We quickly became the best of friends, and it was in this same dorm that she met the man of her dreams! I was honored to develop their wedding invitations! The first few times I met with them we decided on a tree-type theme. With a little ribbon we added color to the invitations, which included the formal invite, a reply card, and a map & accommodations card.

My Little Sister's Bachelorette Bash

Lauren and her friends definitely know how to have fun! We had three things planned for her bachelorette party, and I was faced with the challenge of creating an invite that was lively yet filled with all of the party details. And of course, we wanted to keep the daisy theme going!

Communities First Association

My not-for-profit experience began when I was asked to help design a logo and additional materials Communities First Association, a new organization whose president resides in Holland, Michigan. The logo (and tagline) the client chose represents the idea of harvesting and community. At first glance, one may not realize that the logo is in fact two hands, and that the abstract hands could be described, as the client called them, "organic." The logo and letterhead I developed are below, and additional materials ranged from business cards to tradeshow banners.
